Power. Intrigue. Desire. Suicide.
But what about:
Young individuals. Patchwork Family. Mental Health. Teenage rebellion. Procrastination.
We are not trying to make a point about Hamlet’s inherent modernity; others have done that before. We are merely enhancing Hamlet’s relevance in modern times by slightly shifting the focus and adding contemporary live music. The result is an intertextual, multi-layered tragedy that is perhaps a bit more accessible to a young audience today.
