Study Abroad & Virtual Mobility

All students of English and American Studies in Würzburg are encouraged to participate in international exchange.

Together with the International Office of the JMU and the Erasmus Exchange Program, the American Studies teaching team is happy to advice students regarding opportunities to study for a year or semester abroad with our cooperation partners at the University of Texas at Austin, State University of New York at Albany, and Flagler College Florida. Additionally, we work closely with further international universities such as Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 in France, Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar in Senegal, and University College Cork in Ireland. Please visit the English and American Studies Study Abroad page for an overview of requirements and options for study abroad in addition to visiting our office hours for individual advisement.

Innovative virtual exchange programs provide further opportunities for intercultural connection and learning. Global Circle courses bring students from across the world together to discuss important contemporary issues in compact two-week interactions. The DAAD International Virtual Academic Collaboration / IVAC program at the JMU WueGlobal: Writing, Learning, Digital Connection offers a broad range of activities – from stand-alone events to semester-long collaborative courses – that bring Würzburg students into dialogue with students and professors at partner institutions in North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
