Study Abroad & Virtual Mobility

All students of English and American Studies in Würzburg are encouraged to participate in international exchange.

Together with the International Office of the JMU and the Erasmus Exchange Program, the American Studies teaching team is happy to advice students regarding opportunities to study for a year or semester abroad with our cooperation partners at the University of Texas at Austin, State University of New York at Albany, and Flagler College St. Augustine as well as Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 in France, Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar in Senegal,  University College Cork and Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.  Please visit the English and American Studies Study Abroad page for an overview of requirements and options for study abroad in addition to visiting our office hours for individual advisement.

A further hallmark of JMU American Studies is the integration of international perspectives into our regular teaching program via hybrid and on-site cooperations with partners at National Taiwan  Normal University  in Taipei, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University and Jawaharlal-Nehru-University (JNU) in New Delhi, India, Flagler College St. Augustine, and the University of Texas at Austin. Course descriptions and the addition of #wueglobal in course titles will help you find seminars that include international collaboration in terms of co-teaching and/or student perspectives (Course Offerings).

Global Circle courses provide further opportunities for intercultural connection and learning. This online, English-language program brings students from across the world together to discuss important contemporary issues in compact two-week interactions. in North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
