Shakespeare-Studies at Würzburg University

In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, the students of three seminars in the fields of literary studies, linguistics and teaching English as a foreign language have created a poster exhibition which shows that the Bard's work is very much alive and kicking! The posters cover a wide range of approaches to Shakespeare in research as well as teaching. They introduce you to selected aspects of Shakespeare studies, placing his plays in historical contexts such as discovery of the new world, colonialism, or treachery and usurpation, exploring the language of love and featuring adaptations in film and mangas. Come and find out for yourselves what Shakespeare studies have to offer!

The exhibition opens with a wine reception on Monday, 4 July 2017, 6 p.m. in the long hallway between TB 4 and 5 (Philosophisches Institut, Hubland). All welcome!
