Resource Collection on American History

18.10.2022

Dear Students,

today we are pleased to present our resource collection on American History, which we have developed over the past months together with lecturers in American Studies.

From George Washington to Joe Biden, from the 1619 Project and the enslavement of Africans to Civil Rights, from the Declaration of Independence to the Women’s suffrage and Gay Liberation movements – this resource collection on WueCampus guides you through the diverse history of the US.

By providing you with various materials to study on your own, the course is suitable for everyone – whether you are just beginning your English/American Studies degree and want a broad overview, or if you are an advanced student and want to delve into a specific topic in the American history. The material will also help you for your „Staatsexamen“-preparation, as we have integrated many important texts from the American Studies reading list (Lektüreliste).

Background readings, key texts, podcasts, videos, literary texts, primary sources – our broad and self-explanatory collection of materials can make you an expert of American history.

To access our resource collection, please click the following link and log in with your usual WueCampus credentials: https://wuecampus.uni-wuerzburg.de/moodle/course/view.php?id=51216#section-0
You will find the course under “Meine Kurse > Semesterübergreifend”.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us.

Best,
