New album by a lecturer of our department!

Patrick Maiwald, lecturer at the Department of English Linguistics, has participated in the production of the Early Modern English lute music album Disruption and Continuity. On this album, lutenist Alejandro Galiano Zurbriggen has teamed up with other classical musicians (Tiago Oliveira, tenor; Amandine Affagard, Baroque lute) to bring to life the authentic sound of 16th- and 17th-century English lute music, including reconstructed historical pronunciations. Apart from transcribing the lyrics for the singer, Patrick Maiwald contributed two short readings of Early Modern English texts in original pronunciation. The digital album is now available on streaming platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, and Amazon.
