Research Interests
Find me on: ORCID, Researchgate, University Paris 8
My work focuses on examining the interconnections between language, cognition and emotion in the context of urbanisation in megacities and smart cities. I specialise in cognitive semantics, corpus-based analysis and multimodal discourse analysis and am interested in human-nature relationships and the aesthetics of everyday urban places.
My research is often interdisciplinary and encompasses approaches from human geography, affective science, and digital humanities. I am particularly interested in the following topics:
- Sustainable urban infrastructure
- Well-being in megacities
- Everyday aesthetics and the living environment
- Social challenges and environmental crises
My current research projects draw on a blend of applied linguistics and human geography to explore how language and culture shape the human-nature interactions in urban green-blue infrastructure in megacities, as well as disclose the behavioural intentions of its citizens. Through these projects, I advocate for the significance of language-focused research to respond better to a myriad of ecological and social issues in megacities.
