FJUEL 13 (Forum Junge Englische Linguistik in Bayern)
23.10.2025On October 10 and 11, 2025, the English Linguistics department welcomed students, PhD candidates, and postdocs of Bavarian universities to participate in FJUEL 13 (Forum Junge Englische Linguistik in Bayern).
On Friday, participants presented an overall of eight different talks – ranging from corpus studies to applied research on language learning, and the use of AI tools. Coffee breaks offered the opportunity to chat and network, and included a small poster session. The day ended with a well-deserved pizza group dinner.
On Saturday, our colleagues Lisa Lehnen and Richard Lemoine Rodríguez from the Geolingual Studies project offered a workshop on NLP and English linguistics, during which participants could gain firsthand experience on how NLP approaches and traditional linguistic methods can be combined to answer relevant questions. The organizers Aditya Upadhyaya, Carina Stick, and Regina Grund thank Deutscher Anglistikverband for funding the conference, and everyone who joined FJUEL 13. We’re already looking forward to next year’s FJUEL 14!
