Geolingual Studies Presentation at the FAU

On May 7th, Lisa Lehnen and Richard Lemoine Rodríguez, the two postdoctoral researchers of Geolingual Studies (GLS), were invited to the Department of Digital Humanities and Social Studies of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) to discuss with Dominik Kremer the strategy and approach for an interdisciplinary collaborative research campaign that is to be conducted in Würzburg in the coming months. Moreover, they gave a talk titled “Geolingual Studies – a new research direction“ to introduce the research agenda of GLS showcasing how methods from remote sensing, computational humanities, and linguistics can be combined to analyse social media data and explore urban discourses and migration patterns, as well as migrants’ interests and language practices, such as code-switching.
